the primary color is all natural Teak or Cedar. While these boxes range in size, the most common size is a
square 18"L x 18"D x 15"H wood planter box. Planter boxes can also be purchased with a trellis attached so vines
can grow, which provides even more of a unique flare.
Window Wood Planter Boxes
Some
planter boxes can be hung from a window or a railing and others are meant to be placed on a railing, deck, or
patio. Depending on how much space you have and the kind of look you are going for, this will determine what
type of small planter box you will want to purchase.
The
window sill type boxes are made of plastic, pressurized wood, polyethylene, or Windsor. They vary in size from
24”L x 8”W x 17”H all the way up to 72”L x 10”W x 11”H inches and tons of sizes in between.
The most
common window box planter is white. Other colors include clay, brown, and natural wood and green. There is a
color and style to suit everybody’s needs. There are even variations of the hanging tomato planters that are available in a
wood construction.
Wood Planter Boxes – Purchase Considerations
Before purchasing, you should first consider where you plan on putting your wood planter box and
what you want to grow in it. This will really dictate the size that you will need, but also consider how deep you
will need the box to be. Some plants and flowers have deep roots, while others only need a few inches to grow.
Color can be a big consideration for many people, but one thing that is important to remember is
that if a natural wood type of planter box is
